The government even sprung for "shelter in-place" equipment just in case someone couldn't get out, and that is laughable and has been a joke around here but that is another story.
Anyhoo.....with too much frequency (and it goes to show I watch too much TV) commercials are being shown over & over about what to do in case of an accident. They are on the radio and it is talked about in the newspapers. I have a friend in Panama City that is an environmentalist and activist and she tells me to get the crap out of here but I can't just move off. All of this has gotten me a nervous wreck and I must say a bit paranoid because now I feel that something is going to happen. It has never bothered me much before and I guess I was naive about what they were burning at the thing. Now that I have studied and have gotten the "DOH" out of me I am afraid.
If a warning signal goes off, I am suppose to head for the Georgia line. I have stashed away some cash ( I don't have credit cards) and have a bag packed. Honest to goodness I feel like people did with all of the y2k hoopla and we all know nothing happened.
I am a grown woman but I feel just like a big ole scaredy cat baby.
Am I being too paranoid? Do I need a swift kick in the pants? Should I get a grip and pull myself together? |
Hi Lucy
Yes, IGNORANCE is bliss. ; 0
Try to forget about the WHAT IFS,as quite frankly there will be something else out to get you instead of this. When we worry about a certain thing it always ends up that the thing we were worrying about doesn't happen but something least expected does.
Just try to chill and not worry about the WHAT IFS, ok,as if it is going to happen it will, and you worrying about it is using up too much of your energy.
Take care Lucy
BTW where I live if the Nuclear Power Plant fails we are done for, as there is no emergency route out.
