Anyone heard anything about this?? If they are...perhaps the FCC is changing the rules and Clear Channel has inside information??

Couldn't find a recent news story by googling but went to a radio discussion board that I frequent and found a link to this news story and several others.

Can't figure out if they are selling outright or trying to take the company private...

Can't see anyone buying them outright...probably be sold off piecemeal...if indeed they are selling out.

Regardless of the reason, if it brings back good radio and the management to keep it good, it will definitely be a good thing...

I saw a program recently on CNBC about Clear Channel.

The CEO/OWNER is reeling from the Howard Stern mess plus a few others.

I gathered that he was wanting to step down and needed the money.

I worked 24 years for a radio company that was purchased by ol Cheap Channel. There used to be 6 radio companies here and then CC bought all but one. Two years after CC bought em all up, my boss died and the new boss fired all us "old" people and hired new ones. My job went to a 20 year old blonde with big accoutrements and the will to do my job for $50K less per year than I was making. They did this all over the country. If they need money, it's their own fault.

I hate Clear Channel with a passion. May the Mays Family rot in HELL!!
