They just spam everyone. I'm even getting them at work now. A lot of investment ones, too--you know, the next hot stock.

I get a spew of e-mails in my name. Just have to be careful who you give your e-mail out to. And just delete the bad e-mails when they come in, after so much period of time they drop off.

One thing I learned is never to click the unsubscribe link, as that only verifies that you have a valid e-mail address.

I finally had to enable strict filtering in Outlook. If you are not in my contact list it goes to the Junk-Mail folder.

I review every so often then delete it.

I also run mt own email server. When I have to give out my email address, say to Amazon, I'll use the address of Amabooks@xxxx92838.wvr, this way if I get a lot of spam I know who sold my address.

I know someone else who did that. He would use the company name, something like microsoft@myname.com so he could trace it. I don't remember who the main offenders were, if I even knew.

The email address that I am getting this stuff at is not one that I give out; only a few persons that I know of have it. That's what's weird to me and in one email the subject line had the name of a person that I haven't talked to in nearly four yrs. which is what made me take a second look. Normally I delete or report as spam, but when I saw this familiar name I thought to myself "Has he gone into credit repair or real estate?"
