| Aww, how cute I'll have to try and upload mine tomorrow. My grandbaby was a duck, and my two kids were pimps. They were pimping the duck for candy.
Geez, this will probably show up in someone's TOS somewhere.

| OMG Jay, they're adorable. LOVE the pink hair! I bet they brought home a mother-lode of candy.
We had an absolutely crappy Halloween. If you can believe it, my son's band director scheduled a mandatory (read GRADED) band function that went from right after school until 7:45 at night. They were required to go and WATCH the 7th-graders play their instruments at a JV football game - what an absolute waste.
By the time I got my 11-yr old son home, Halloween was over in our neighborhood (it sure didn't help that the temperature decided to drop considerably and the wind started howling). My son actually took it fairly well right up until the time he got home and realized that he wouldn't even get to hand out candy to other kids. Saw a single tear come from the kid that absolutely broke my heart!
What kind of person schedules something on Halloween night and makes it mandatory? |

| That's terrible! We must live pretty close, that wind nearly froze my hiney off. As well.

| I think we live quite close to each other Jlynn....I live about 40 minutes NE of downtown Dallas in a quasi-rural suburb. I think my location is a mitigating factor...you don't have all of the cement and the buildings to trap the heat and disrupt the wind patterns. It figures though...Monday was a high over 80 and beautiful, and then it tanks for Halloween! |

| Thakns SG....what a crappy teacher...
I dont want to HEAR ABOUT COLD...What was the temp 55...lol with a brisk wind?.....HA HA j/k
I live in MI 15 min off of Lake Michigan and we GET POUNDED with Lake Effect Snow and Wind. The subdivision I am in there are not any trees so its always windy but on Sunday the wind was up to about 45MPH.
So far though we have had 6.5" of snow. Once you get another 10 miles east where DW parents live...not even a little most of the time...
On Sunday it was sleeting then hailing....DW woke me up and asked if I wanted to put my new car in the garage...by the time I did it the sleet stoped
Thanks for the comments....34 F here right now......
I am gonna check the weather for TX...lol |

| Ok, here are my "babies". The kid on the left in the trio is not mine - although she might as well be . Back right is my DAUGHTER, age 14, and her little brother who is 12.5.
The grandbaby will be 6 months old the 8th.

Originally Posted by JayinGR I dont want to HEAR ABOUT COLD...What was the temp 55...lol with a brisk wind?.....HA HA j/k | We had a low of 43 last night with a steady wind of 25 and gusts up to 30 mph. Not as cold as ya'll, but it's a bit disconcerting when you had a high the previous day that was 40 degrees higher. Ya never know what you're gonna get here in North Texas.
I'm a transplanted Yankee (going on 25 years here in the great state), so I empathize with the cold temperatures and weather patterns coming off of the great lakes...lived in MI, IN and OH long ago. I have not-so fond memories of getting all gussied up for Halloween and then having my mom ruin my entire costume by making me wear my winter coat over the top...talk about a bummer!
P.S. And thanks for the candy offer, but what with the weather we had a bit of surplus ourselves. I think what upset my son most was that the whole day became just a non-event. He would have been very happy to be a "grown-up" passing out candy to the little one's, but he didn't even get to do that.

She's beautiful...and a great candy-magnet for the older kids. I mean how much better can you do that drag along your sleeping niece dressed in a costume that will definitely make all of the candy-givers fork over their loot! |

| Ack...open mouth insert foot !
I had it in my mind that you had a granddaughter for some reason (maybe all of the recent talk about your youngest daughter)...and all of your mentions of "grandbaby" did nothing to set me straight!
Please forgive the incorrect assumption (although I probably haven't assaulted his masculinity too terribly bad considering his tender age and lack of facial hair).
Will make it a point to address him "pro-noun-appropriate" from now on!! |

| It was raining then sleeting then raining then sleeting last night here with a temp of 35 F. I didn't get ANY trick or treaters!!! Didn't get to see my grandson or granddaughter as both their Moms took them up to Great Grandma's house for Halloween and I couldn't go...I am sure there are pics of them in costume but I don't have them yet. Here are some of Ava I took Saturday...
