| from the Texas Bar Journal... Just for Hannah: MONITOR WARNING READ AT OWN RISK
A letter from a Bell County JP dated 40 years ago...written to counsel about a client who had entered the JP's office...name and date redacted by me, but are found in the TBJ. Mrs. xxxxx contacted me in my office this date reference case #12345.
She started the conversation by pleading guilty to the charge and then proceeded to explain the circumstances surrounding the alleged disturbance. She stated that she did not use profane language, but merely stated facts. She advised me that (name redacted by me) had had twelve children by eight different men all out of wedlock. She stated therefore that when she had told (redacted) "You are a whore with a house full of bastards" this was descriptive rather than slanderous.
Under the circumstances I agreed and dismissed the charge pending against her in my court. I trust this meets with your approval.
