| I've checked and it's true, although I've been good. Chevron is one of the cards that I opened to re-establish credit.

| Good for you. Who services Chevron now? If it's Citi I wouldn't be surprised at the increase.

| It says Chevron credit bank....should it be a larger entity handling credit for them?
Citi has turned me down in the past?
Also, this should improve my utilization on my credit too, right? I didn't have a high balance and I pay it each month, but with the increase that means I am practically using nothing.

| Citi probably bought the portfolio. They just bought ExxonMobil cards from GE MoneyBank.
If you've been handling the account well, they usually give a credit increase right away. It will take a while for it to get combined with their other business if it ever does.
Yes, it will help your utilization.

| I am not complaining, but Citi has not done anything for me in the past but I guess that's the point of re-building credit, uh?

| That's right. I think they are more forgiving than a lot, as long as you haven't BK'd on them.

| Are you opted out? If so, you might want to opt back in, but of course now you have a business relationship with Citi.
You might want to try. Years ago, when I was on CN, people were applying for the American Airlines AAdvantage credit card from Citi and seemed to be getting approved. I don't know if it's still true or not.
You have your car. Are you going to get a mortgage in less than a year? If not, I say go try it. If you want to get a mortgage, maybe wait for an offer that's at least prescreened.
