| BBQ, lemonade and the red, white & blue I hope everyone has a great July 4th. We should all be mindful what a truly great country we live in and what freedoms we have. I am proud to be American and I am proud of our men and women in the military. God bless us all.

| I'm sorry to hear about your friend, jlynn. I have also lost friends in Iraq.
And, I also wish a Happy Fourth of July to everyone. I urge everyone to take a few minutes and reflect on the freedoms we have and how great this country is. And please say a prayer for those who are serving or have served this great country.
Be safe, and enjoy the fireworks.

| Brats, burgers, bbq chicken, grilled potatoes w/ onion, homemade baked beans, fresh strawberries and watermelon, and chocolate chip cookies (whew). And all topped off with a vat of sangria...
I rolled down the street to watch the fireworks, and then had someone roll me back.

Fireworks were in my front yard - I have to rouse the teens to clean later - they will be oh so thrilled.

But not even Jay showed up. Maybe I should have given out my address to make it easier to find, ya think???
We had fireworks at the house too...out in the front yard on the driveway. You can see a fireworks stand across the field in the back of my house, so we went over there and loaded up on a whole bunch of stuff...asked for discreet items because they're technically illegal in the city that I live (I know, bad girl, but I figured we had a greater chance of seeing Noah pass by in his ark, then burning anything down). So, we're out there lighting up all kinds of sparkling fountains, morning glorys, 5-shot torches, etc., and we get to something called a "Cracklin Whip"....set it on the ground, light it up and all h@ll breaks loose....sounded like someone was conducting a driveby through the neighborhood with an AK-47.
You've never seen a group of adults grab their lawn chairs and clear out in such a hurry...

But probably THE BEST time of all was had by Grandma. That's my friend's grandmother, and she turned 94 this year. We got Grandma onto the front porch and gave her Roman Candles. She was shooting them at the teens. I kid you not.
