--------------------------------
Washington Mutual Master Card
Easy to qualify (IMO). I had 3 negatives on Trans Union and about a 650 score. Got instant approval for $2000.
Drawback: I didn't catch that it was issued by Providian before applying. Still could be good deal for rebuilding.
-------------------------------
Applied for Wells Fargo same day, they also pulled TU. Got message that they had to investigate further and would responf in 5-7 days. I have a mortgage and a paid loan for a storage building with them, not sure how much of a factor that was.
Apporved for $5000. |

Apporved for $5000. | I feel WAMU is a BAD company to deal with. A few months ago they had someone coming out to my eldery friends home checking it out as she was not even FIFTEEN DAYS late with her mortgage.
They left a letter right on the front of her door, for anyone to read. They also CHARGED her for this field visit!
Thankfully I paid off the small mortgage for her and she is DONE with them!
Another thing is WAMU and Providian are about the same as far as when you apply they do not send out the card, but keep calling you and calling you until you answer and then they ask you if you would like to purchase this and that.
If you then tell them NOT to call you anymore and just send the card and again NOT to call you for any promos then they do not.
Be aware though they DO CALL a lot if you do not answer or do not tell them not to call.

| Thanks for the tips. I applied after my friend with a BK 7 was approved. As I stated, it is Providian and many don't like to deal with them, but may be something to establish credit then close later. |

I got a PayPal card and the issuer was Providain and did it on line.
You might try this.
Just go to the PayPal site and apply.
They say you will get an answer in thirty seconds.
If you don't and you start seeing some phone numbers that you are not familiar with do a search if you do not want to answer as it probably will be PP. : )
Good Luck and let us know. https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/we...PlusCC-outside

| I have a WaMu card and never had a problem with it. They do not give out the hightest CL's but it is said that they give auto CLI's after 6 months of responsible use.
At anyrate, WaMu is not the easiest card to get IMHO, need probably a 650 or better on TU.
eta: FWIW, GEMB now handles the PayPal Plus MC. Not huge initial CL's there either, but at least they have a luv button you can push with no hard INQ. |

| First, get hard copies of your reports from each of the three credit reporting agencies. Don't use the three-in-one you get on the web, as it doesn't always show things correctly.
If your negative information is over seven years old it shouldn't even be showing.
Once you get your reports, come back here and tell us what you have. Not account numbers or anything that is personal, just how many accounts, how old they are, any negative information that is showing, things like that.

Scores are not the only thing that is considered. As I stated above, you need to get the three reports and then we can see where to go from there.

| I've had WAMU VISA for about a year, started out at 2k, now at 3.5k. Its the emergency card. I'm coming up for the increase again, on this as well as BB and B of A, unless Cap One gets on the ball, they are history. |

| I won't touch Wamu or Wells Fargo for anyone. Still waiting to hear from Wamu's counsel for their non-pp pull.Hopefully I can get me some play money out of it. |
