Cap One is not going to delete the accounts, in my opinion. They will produce the documentation you request. That's one reason they usually collect on their own debts--they have the documentation.
As far as their cards go, it depends what card you have. Their prime cards can be very good, and I've gotten some good offers since I got a prime card with them. Things like BTs (check can be made to you) at 3.9% for the life of the transfer. Their subprime cards, however, suck. I had one, closed it, and had no accounts with them for about 8 years until I got the prime offer.
