Even if you DIY, its not unusual at all for scores to go down during repair, before rebounding. Some of it actually has to do with how the CRAs report dates, and how FICO interprets them.
Some don't realize that if you have a negative, but it is very old, its age may be helping more than the negative notations are hurting.
