Debtsguide? Cover up? What's that? I think you misunderstand the purpose of the board here. We try to help persons educate themselves about consumer laws and consumer credit.

I believe you need to define what you mean by "cover up my debts." If you mean make them simply vanish from a credit report, that isn't going to happen. If you mean conceal them from a spouse, then perhaps your CPA can advise you as to other accounting mechanisms.

However, properly reporting debt does not simply go *poof* without payment or the approval of the BK Court on a Chap7 (not advisable, and not an option for all people). And, a BK does not just make remnants of the debt go away either...it has its own set of reverberations on the credit horizons...

Are you referring to "www.debtsguide.com?

I looked through a few of the articles of which most are basic information containing some misinformation, IMO. The gem of the site is this article on how to get money

http://www.debtsguide.com/1934.php

I would suggest sticking around here, learning your rights, and putting together a plan to repair your credit and create a budget to never get back in a bad situation.

2. You can always gather shells at the beach and polish and turn
into jewelry.

4. Paint faces on rocks and sell as paper weights.

7. Go get welfare pay or food stamps

22. Spray old building bricks gold, sell as "Fort Knox Rejects"
paper weight.

36. Teach dancing and charge $2 an hour, and have 10 at a time.

Yes, these are real gems.

Is this actually in the book (and if it is, I use that term loosely)?

What the hell?

It's a website called debtsguide.com. Stupid site actually. Geared more toward reading bad information.

15. Go house to house and paint house numbers on curbs for a fee.

I did this for the people in my neighborhood who are in debt. I charged extra to put the wrong number on the house so they wouldnt be served.

It sounded like a good idea until the mailman freaked out and beat up 22 people.

Considering that postal workers are the origination of 'Going postal' why the hell would you screw around with the mailman like that??? That's like asking for an azz whipping! Don't you think?

I can see the news bulletin now;

A mild mannered postman suddenly went berserk in a small suburban neighborhood this evening. Police were dispatched with tranquilizers when the postman suddenly pulled out a pistol and began shouting, "Whose been effing with the damn numbers on my route?" Police on the scene report no life threatening injuries, but the repair of mailboxes in the several neighborhoods will be costly. More news at 6….

Looks like still another site that wants you to pay for something you can do yourself. Many of these "techniques" border on being illegal. I'm not paying to see their "product," but I know of some who promise to eliminate your debt entirely and you won't have to pay anything.

They are scams. Stay far, far away.
