| We don't have debtor's prisons anymore. Worse case scenario is they could possibly be charged with fraud, not likely though unless they charged up the cards with the intention of skipping the country.
More likely they would be sued and a default judgment obtained. Statutes of limitation would be tolled while the party was out of the country.
I'm not a lawyer, but that is my best guess.
