us bank a$$ clowns

so i disputed the double entry listing with us bank that they were kind enough to post on my c.r. and they sent me back a letter stating that they want my ss#,acct #, phone number, and current address...and i have 30 days to respond from the date of when they made the letter,which happened to be sent to me 3 weeks later from when they dated it..
in my dispute letter to them, i gave them my address,full name,the account number that they are reporting and a dont call me,write instead notice...ssssooooo, do i have to provide them with my ss#? and phone number to comply with the fcra? or can i reiterate the same as before but more strongly this time?

Did you dispute with the CRA first?

How many times did you dispute with CRAs? Twice? Do it once again and ask for description of their method of verification including the names, addresses, and phone numbers of any furnishers of information.

Nevermind them for the minute......sit back and take your shoes and wait to see what happens.

When you dispute this time with the CRA, be specific; say exactly what is reporting wrong and why it is wrong and you are requesting their method of verification like I stated above. Do not get wordy; be short, direct, and to the point.

Don't get too excited just yet. First, sure EX tells me the same thing. Second, any time I ask any of them for a description of their method, all I get is a standard form letter. Third (the big one), I am preparing a complaint against TU for saying they verified, when the OC said "no, they never contacted us." May want to keep that in mind. Check with the OC if they had any contact. My method was to give the OC a window of dates only, that way they could not say "Oh yeah, they contacted and we verified" in order to protect any relationship they may have with a CRA.

Disputing three times with a CRA somehow gives you better standing in that you gave them ample rope to hang themselves.

If you want to dispute the account directly with the furnisher, yes you will.

See 623(a)(8)(D)(iii)

(D) Submitting a notice of dispute- A consumer who seeks to dispute the accuracy of information shall provide a dispute notice directly to such
person at the address specified by the person for such notices that--
(i) identifies the specific information that is being disputed;
(ii) explains the basis for the dispute; and
(iii) includes all supporting documentation required by the furnisher to substantiate the basis of the dispute.

Correct; it's a reason why we (I) tell you these things. If you dispute, dispute again, and then dispute a 3rd time saying this and that is absolutely wrong for such and such reason, "Are you sure you're relaying the message that this can't possibly be correct????

BAM!!!!

It's in the FCRA!
