You can try it however, Verizon will do one of two things:
1) Negotiate your payment but, not honor the Agreement (this is the likely occurence),
or
2) Refuse to negotiate the payment.
In short, Verizon does not delete anything unless it is brough to their attention that they reported something on your reports in error. They are a tough nut to crack.
That said, I would consider an alternative notion to improve your scores. If however, none come to mind then you can opt to go with the payment with adhesion. If they cash it and mark it as paid, it will help insofar as it will stop reporting as past due and delinquent every month. Even if they up the date of status to the date of payment, I think you'll still come ahead. In addition, you would also have a breach claim should you be willing to push it that far.
