| When you dispute information on your credit file and the CRA relays the info back to the furnisher...how specific do they have to be?
For instance you write and say the CA is wrong about the amount and the date of the trade line? Does the CRA have to relay the dispute verbatim? I know some things have a general description that CRAs use, but what about when you give detailed disputes?

| They reduce everything to a two digit code and convey it to the furnisher via EOscar. You can write a manifesto and it is still digested and put forth as not mine, balance wrong, fraud, etc. Although, Johnson v. MBNA stated that inaccuracies must be pinpointed, it doesn't work that way with respect to the cra's for the most part.
This is why it's advantageous to alert the furnisher as well.

Matter of fact, I know there is; I am just doing some more homework and wanted other opinions.

| They get specific if you're a special handling type of character or sue them. Check out Len Bennett's report to congress and that will give you an idea.

I once was trying to get a finer grain of detail on a TL and the EXP CSR picked up the damn phone and called Discover who I did not want to "awaken". So yeah they have a definate alternative to the two digit code system.
