| Help Crap one has changed dates!!!!! I got in the mail today the first of my disputed CRA reports from Equifax. It looks like Crap One is not reporting the last known pymt on both accts anymore at all and now have pushed the date of delinquency back 6 months on both accts in an attempt to keep in in SOL for another 6 months. Equifax is also saying this crap is now being reported as open and will stay on my report for 7- 10 yrs. I am dead sure if Equifax looks like this the others will too. So I need some advice and help to make this go away. Lost an other apartment because of this Crap One crap!!!
HELP!!!!! Please!!!!!
Please see attached file. This is the two reports from Equifax. The top is from10-6-07, the bottom is dated 3-8-08

| From looking at the original way it was reporting, the Acct History shows the accounts current around that time period. They were reporting a serious delinquency, then you caught up, then you had the delinquency that resulted in the charge off.
I don't see where they are marked as open. In fact, the way they are reporting now, they should come both come off in the next 3 and 4 months.
Have you pulled your other reports from TU and EX? I would like to know the dates they are reporting...
Do you have any decline letters from apts stating that the Cap One charge off is the reason you are being declined? Have you verified which reports these complexes are pulling? There is a renters type CRA out there (can't think of the name of it), and you may have some bogus info on that.
I'm just scratching my head wondering why an apt would deny you for a 7 year old CO...

| Jlynn thanks for the reply. Even to my untrained eye, something looks fishy here. If SOL starts on date of last pymt, ( 12/2000 and 01/2001 as seen on the 10/6/07 Equifax report) then SOL has expired at this point. To me it looks like Crap One is changing the dates to keep this within SOL for another 6 months.
I did go back and look over some of the wording and they are not listed as open, but on the Equifax report they are listed as: BAD DEBT & PLACED FOR COLLECTION & SKIP.
I did file disputes with the other CRAs and am awaiting their replies now. Equifax was just the first to reply.
I do not have a decline letter from a apt. I live in a small country town. This was a home owner that asked to see a copy of my current report. They saw the words ' BAD DEBT & PLACED FOR COLLECTION & SKIP.' and felt I was a bad risk. My FICO score did not help me either. My turn down notification was verbal and over the phone.
In this time of bad debts and money problems no one is willing to take chances anymore. The words 'BAD DEBT & PLACED FOR COLLECTION & SKIP' is what messed up my getting the auto loan that I needed. This is a fact as those were the words I heard from a salesman that ran my report ad a dealer.
It would seem no one cares how old the debt is. As long as the words 'BAD DEBT & PLACED FOR COLLECTION & SKIP' are on my report. 3-4 months is a long time to wait for me with those words in place.

| The fact of the matter is that the words 'BAD DEBT & PLACED FOR COLLECTION & SKIP' is exactly what happened with this debt, right? Nothing fishy or even reporting incorrectly from what you have said. I know you don't want to hear it, but you may just have to let it age off.

| Unfortunately, Hannah is right. Cap One is usually set in stone. You might could fight this, if you didn't catch the payments up in June and July of 01 as previously reported, but it is going to be off your report before you have resolution as it is.

Cap One is now alleging (from the account history), that you did catch up and then defaulted the ultimate time. The older history (the delinquency that you caught up) is now gone, as it has aged off, with only the other history remaining.
If this is incorrect, and the original Dates of Last Payment reported in 07 are correct, and you never caught up in 01, then it is disputable, you might try a FACTA dispute to Cap One, but as I said, the reality is, even with all your letter writing, likely resolution will occur about the same time this ages off - its just a matter of was it deleted for age, or deleted for errors.

I was taken off welfare because I started working, but because my son was only 3 yrs old at the time and I was alone I could not work crazy hrs. to make more money. I made too much money for welfare but was only making about little more than I was getting on welfare. Back then I had to pay for daycare for son above household bills just to be able to work. What little money I was making and was left over after daycare bill went for food, bus fare (to get to work), and household (gas, electric, rent) bills. Not for trying to catch up on credit cards. So yes the last pymt dates should be correct. Yuo should also note that on the 07 report that the date of last activity was listed as 12/2000 and 01/2001 so that should confirm the last pymt dates too. Right???

| I noticed they started reporting a 2008 "date major delinquency first reported" date. Ask Equifax what the exact month and year these will fall off.

If you don't mind a little work you can find someone EVEN without knowing DOB or SSN. I know this because I did it to find someone. I was surprised what $22 and a little time did.

I am sorry, I maybe dense here or just in a hurry to get this off my reports, but something just does not feel right here. Anyway Crap One is NOT noted for being a stand up, straight playing company.

| The simple fact that I can not get Crap One to provide me with the requested facts, along with the listed dates of last pymt/activity do not match the acct. history status codes on the bottom of the 07 report has me convinced something is wrong here. Even on both reports Crap One has desided to pick and choose what facts they report to Equifax as well as changing dates. If all the dates reported by Crap One followed the same dates then this would NOT be an issue, I would just wait it out.
Please take another look at both reports. Look closely at the Acct. history w/ status codes on the 07 report and then look at the date of first delinquencies on the 08 report. Those are at direct odds with each other if my over worked brain is reading this right.

| I am disputing with CRA using the old CR's as my prove the dates to be romoved are inaccurrate and a violation of FCRA, which they are aware of since the information is in there data base.
We will see what happens. |

| I would have to wonder why they show different account opening dates...I'm not convinced that we have all of the pieces of the puzzle here. Were there two different starter cards that went bad in roughly the same window of time???

| There were two different accounts opened about a month a part. BUT I stopped paying both at the same time due to really bad financial hardship. None of the dates that Crap 1 reports is consistant from one year to the next. And as I can not get them to provide proof of ANYTHING I sent a cert. sig. required letter to Equifax pointing out crap 1 game playing. If the games continue I will file a complaint with FTC.
