Walmart credit card upgrade

I currently have a walmart card. I am wondering if GEMB automatically upgrades those users to Discover affiliated cards at some point.

I am certain the Discover card isn't actually issued by Discover, but GEMB is a network of Discover. Would you have to apply for it seperately or use a link in account management?

I've had a Wal-Mart card with an obscene limit since Montgomery Ward went out of business and all of their cards became Wal-Mart, and I've never gotten an "upgrade" to Discover.

I'm not sure that's an upgrade. If it works like the normal Discover card, the 2-cycle interest computation more than eats up any rewards if you carry a balance at all.

wouldn't a walmart upgrade be to a Target card?

Not to me. A Target upgrade would be Wal*Mart. I hardly ever set foot in a Target store. I always figure if Wal*Mart doesn't have it I don't need it.

That is a great way to think about shopping. I love Walmart too.

No, they won't. You will have to apply separately.
