Thank you everyone for all of the information that I have been able to find.

Short Version:

I live in Michigan and was sued by LVNV, with help from here filed my answer.

I received a court date for the hearing, and need to file discovery. However, I am affraid that I might be to late as the hearing is 8 days from now. Holidays in the bar business stink, but I did this to myself.

My question is, is it to late to file? All it entails is sending the list of questions and requests for admissions to the lawyer, and not to the court itself?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

West

The best answer to this question can be found in your state's Rules of Civil Procedure. Most of the time (my experience), the Discovery document will state how long you have to answer Discovery. I say that because the OCs that I have seen contain Request for Admissions/Disclosure and will state you have X days after service to return it. If you received something else later, actually titled Discovery, that too should state how long you have. In Texas, it is 30 days from receipt, regardless when the hearing is.
