As you seem to have learned -- the hard way, unfortunately -- negative information cannot be removed from your credit files if it is accurate. In fact, it is illegal to have negative information removed from a credit report when you know the information is correct. | I guess we're all just a bunch of outlaws. |

| That's what some folks say.
Don't you love it when writers only look at one side of the issue.

| I emailed the columnist and pointed out the faults with his reply to the question. |

| Wouldnt it also be illegal for a CA to place information that they know is false, after you sent 11 documents to the CRA (oh yeah, they dont read documents) proving you were never late on a payment???? |

Is it 1 out of 100.......my guess is 1 out of 1000. |

| First of all, get hard copies of all of your reports, not the trimerge online ones.
Examine the report closely. Are all aspects of the account correct? Dates, amount, etc?
While you're waiting for your reports, do some reading here and you'll start to see what to look for. Then ask specific questions.
