| Pinnavaia v. National Arbitration Forum, Inc Anyone with Pacer access want to look up Pannavia's filings? The lawsuit didn't amount to much (no subject matter jurisdiction), but I was curious what he was suing them for.
Pinnavaia v. National Arbitration Forum, Inc.
122 Fed.Appx. 862
C.A.8 (Minn.),2004.
United States Court of Appeals,
Eighth Circuit.
Matthew D. PINNAVAIA, Appellant,
v.
NATIONAL ARBITRATION FORUM, INC., Appellee.
No. 04-1531.
Submitted Nov. 18, 2004.
Decided Dec. 8, 2004.
Background: Action was brought under Federal Arbitration Act (FAA). The United States District Court for the District of Minnesota dismissed the complaint for failure to state a claim, and plaintiff appealed.
Holding: The Court of Appeals held that the section of FAA providing that district court may vacate arbitration award where arbitrators were guilty of misconduct did not provide an independent jurisdictional basis for filing suit in federal court.
Affirmed.

| True, this is Minnesota we're talking about. They elected a pro wrestler to be their governor, so I have doubts about them having computers and telephones up there.

| After having looked at some other filings, I don't know that Pinnavaia is anyone you would want to depend on for ANYTHING. After reading his suits against the FBI and DoJ, the SMithsonian and the CIA, he appears to be nothing short of a bonafide nutcase.

| The letter attachment in the MBNA suit was hilarious...he sued because MBNA closed all of his accounts and notified him by UPS next day air.
In pertinent part: Based on a recent review of your account, MBNA has determined that your multiple telephone calls and written correspondence have become harassing. MBNA believes that it is very important to work with our Customers, but this commitment to Customer Satisfaction does not mean that we will tolerate harassment. Therefore, we believe that you and our Company will be best served by not continuing our business relationship and the above-mentioned accounts have been closed.
