And another thing

On 1 of my cr's an oc is showing a charge off as of Dec 2006/Jan 2002.
Status-acct charged off/past due 150 days
date of status 1-2002

Another oc is showing 180 days as of Nov 2001 to September 2003
charge off as of Oct 2003

Am I right in thinking something ain't kosher here?

Dispute it with the CRA, but it would help if you gave a little more details because if you start disputing things on your CR you could wake folks up and get some mess started.

You can use incorrect reporting as leverage in case of a suit or if they come after you.

Something isn't right here - most definitely. But it looks like you are talking a 2 month variance here Nov-Jan. It looks like the 12/06 date popped up after disputing, am I right? Nothing illegal in that, it just would then mean when they verified the account is was STILL a CO at the time.

Do you know the actual dates, and is either report even correct?

Right jlynn, 12/06 popped up after I disputed the tradeline.

1/2002 is a chg off date which they are reporting, right after they report dec/2006.This is an oc. Ddate of status 1/2002,150 days as of dec/2001 and date closed 1/2002. But they also show acct chgd off/past due 150 days, 13,000 written off/26,000 past due as of dec 2006. This will continue on record until May 2008. This is experian cr dated 12/2006. I looked at an old 2003 equifax report and it shows dola 7/01 and chg off 1/02.

Next one on experian is also an oc but it was purchased by another lender that is not reporting, only the oc. They report date of status 10/03, chg off as of 10/03, last report 10/03 but 180 days Nov 01 TO sept 03 and 150 days 10/01. This will continue on record until 2007. In checking the same 2003 equifax report it shows dola 01/01, chgd off 10/01.

So it does appear that something isn't kosher, right?

Thanks all.

They are saying the DOFD is 5/01 in this case. Could you have been late then, and made a partial payment in 7/01? That would have put you 150 days past due in 12/01 and 180 (which is the normal chargeoff time in 1/02).
