Suppose the CRAs are willing/able to provide such a thing?...

| I believe credit reports are dynamic. While there is evidence that some tl's you think are deleted are merely suppressed, and still in their records, rebuilding a full report, or providing an historical report, as it would have looked 3 years ago is probably impossible, or very expensive.
Have you gotten past a phone drone at a CRA to see what they say? |

| I agree--the reports are dynamic and probably can't be created easily, if at all. While old trade lines may be suppressed, I doubt that the history of what was reported each time is kept.
That's why it's a good idea to get copies at least once or twice a year and keep them.

| With the 2004 FACTA enhancements to the FCRA, CRA's are now required to keep data used in the normal course of business for five years.
In other words, they must be able to recreate your credit history from the date of request minus five years.
This does not mean that they have to provide it to you without out some prodding. It may take a lawsuit on your part to get them to release it. All they are required to release is the data they have on file as of the date of your request.

We have received your email inquiry.
Please be advised that Equifax only maintain updated information,
therefore,
we are unable to provide you with old reports.

etc..... | They have the information you desire and need. As enigma put is too FACTA requires them to save these items. They stnoewalled me with this same BS when we were in litigation but I knew otherwise.
As Jlynn put it you need to get to someone higher up. On my board I have contacts for all the CRA's and many OC's and CA's try there for someone higher.

| Physical inspection Thanx Engima thats what I thought the record is just that and a report is just a dated form of.
Let's all show up at Equifax's office in Atlanta at the same time to inspect our credit records maybe get some PR. No just kidding... You got to notify them in advance to do that. Has anyone ever requested physical visit as is REQUIRED upon proper notification. |

Someone was even there to answer my questions. I think that may be why I have a soft spot for Experian. |

J | Do you have a specific FACTA reg handy that I could quote to them and get them to do their job? |

A. Well, what their public position is on this is that they keep archive snapshots of the credit reports taken monthly --
THE COURT: Right.
A. -- towards the end of the month usually, but they snapshot the entire data base. That means that every individual data file in that system, though more than one data file may come together to generate a credit report or disclosure, they snapshot every data file in the entire system every month. And they've kept them that way for the last -- I know Equifax, I've got a memo saying it goes back to maybe nineteen seventy-five.
So they -- I mean all of the bureaus for a long period of time have had the ability, and we see -- in discovery we request the snapshots, because what you can do is if you get the snapshots of each file that is coming together to form the credit report on a consumer, you can lay them out and month by month figure out what is washing in and out of the file each month.
