| Can anyone advise me on SEARS/CBSD Contact Ok, I'm new to your forum, but can tell I'm in the right place. I need your expert help and advise!!!
My credit report is showing an open account with SEARS/CBSD for more than $9,000 opened in Feb. 2006. I signed a contract to obtain financing for window installation in my home, but 2 days later I called and cancelled due to finding out I was going to lose my job due to a company merger. However, this is still showing on my credit report as an open and existing account. Good news is I'm in good standing with the account, but have never made any payments or received any further information from them. There is no phone number on my credit report to contact anyone.
Since I've read they no longer handle the credit accounts, I don't know who I should contact to get this off of my credit reports.
Can anyone out there give me the company name, and/or the address phone number I should call or write to?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

| Sears is handled by Citibank, which is where the CBSD comes into play. What you probably were thinking of is the fact that Sears used to handle their own stuff up until around 2001 or 2002.
Is the tradeline showing a $9K balance outstanding or simply that there was a line opened in the amount of $9K? If there is no balance shown as being owed, then I would leave it in place and let it potentially work against the utilization ratios to decrease that significant component of scoring...

| That's what I was thinking. If there's nothing derogatory, it might be to your advantage.
What exactly is showing on your report, then maybe we can advise you better. Don't include anything that will identify you, such as account numbers, but give us the basic info about account type, date opened, status, etc.

| I would not have it deleted if it is positive and does not show a balance. It can only help. That said, you can try: Quote:
