Haven't heard of them nor have I seen many reports of people claiming problems from the window of time cited.
The fact that Hibbs has little means little. Could quite possibly be that they play by the rules. Could be some dinky regional outfit. Who knows. Quite frankly, who cares...you wouldn't do anything any different than with some other company that you weren't in a position to pay...for whatever reason.

A quick Google revealed the following --
Email: info@aisservicesllc.com
Phone: (800) 743-4782
Fax: (415) 651-9333
Website: http://www.aisservicesllc.com
Mailing Address:
AIS Services, LLC
50 California St, Suite 1500
San Francisco, CA 94111
I have never heard of them but I did do a search at CB and they seem to have contacted a few members there right before Christmas. Could be new in the junk debt buying biz as most of what they seem to be trying to collect is OOS.

I have heard of many who got tradelines for Christmas. Did a quick search on County dockets and found four open cases nearby, and over a hundred cases in Wisconsin. Seems like an Asset Acceptance type of operation...tons of default judgements, dubious service procedures, mostly 'by publication.'
Most of the folks who received these tradelines, including one person very close indeed, had no prior letters before the tradelines were posted.
Edit: I am SERIOUSLY thinking of advising my friend, in a non-legal way, to send an "Unknown CA DV letter" to those fine folks to initiate first contact What do you think?

There is caselaw for the insertion of a tradeline to be an initial communication so no prior letter would be required under statute. However, the five days starts with the initial communication so it's a violation if you don't receive a letter 5 days after tradeline insertion. This may vary depending on the state and the circuit as to whether that particular state or circuit considers tradeline insertion to be an initial communication so you would want to check yours.

From that AIS website you sent:
"Select Payment Plan
In addition to the payment in full, we might offer you a discount for making online payments, allow you to schedule payments over time, or have you define the payment terms that best work for your particular situation. "
LOLOL....
so, Hannah, should I tell her to just payup thru their liberal payment plans?
hehehe

Do you get a volume discount and does that includes the 'personal knowledge' package?

My dear Kaxma, you know that will all depend on whether or not AIS owns the debt and whether they can not only prove they own the right to collect but if they can prove she owes it...
