Were I am gambling man (I am not), I would bet that abusive collection story will sing the praises of consumer lawyer Peter F. Barry of Barry & Slade in MN.

I am going to try to stay up and watch this. I did go to http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/BrianRoss/
and watched all the video they had on it. While I think it will be good for many people, it seems (from what I saw on the video)that *we* are not going to learn much and will probably be aggravated by some of it.
I do feel it is a good thing to get the awareness of what you can do to these creepy ones. I am always amazed how so many people let these dc's run all over them.

I watched it. It was a decent piece and was balanced with the responsibility that the consumer has to keep themselves out of debt.

I also didn't mind the segment that they had on the positive influence the collections business had on helping small businesses. HOWEVER, I wish they would have addressed the NEGATIVE influence of the JDB industry.

I watched the piece as well and I think everyone here should email Brian Ross and tell him about the JDB's. If everyone here were to do so, we might just influence ABC to do a follow-up piece about the JDB industry. They did mention the fact that some debts being dunned for weren't owed but didn't specify who owned the debts.
