TU - bogus investigation results

Re my TU report.

I mailed CMRRR a dispute on Dec 21 which TU signed for on the 26th. I disputed three accts and requested deletion.

Today, I get my investigation results back from them. I think they are on drugs.

The "Investigation Results" shows one item: a "Paid or paying as agreed" student loan acct, which they DELETED.

There is no mention of the three TLs that i actually included in my dispute.

In addition, it looks like they split my file. Pulling TC doesn't show it as split, but enclosed with the investigation results is a page that states: "The following is an additional credit report for this consumer" and what follows is another shorter report that includes two good TLS, one mine and the other an AU acct, both currently open and paying as agreed. The inquiry section has slightly over a page of soft TC pulls.

The longer report has abt 30 TLs, one hard inq and quite a few soft inquiries, mostly TC pulls.

Are they trying to pull a fast one by pretending i disputed a good TL and they investigated and deleted, all the while ignoring the actual dispute? Since we are closing in on the 30 + 5 days, can I hold them to the requested deletion since they did not address the actual dispute/s?

What is the cure for the split file - a phone call?

Thanks again, guys.

I don't know that they are trying to pull a fast one, they could just be dumb. But, IMHO, yes you can hold them to the deletion - I have done that, and was able to handle it with an escalated phone call - but this was years ago, so I don't know if it will be so easy now.

Hopefully with the above phone call, you could handle both - I have never seen one sure fire cure for a split file. Some have it handled easily, some it has taken months.

I have had the almost the same problem. I disputed a tradeline that was paid. TU sends me back a letter saying that they do not have a record of the civil judgment. I didn't dispute a judgment and do not even have a judgment. Incompetence comes to mind or just a plain ole don't care attitude. Somebody is not reading what is being sent to them or they do not comprehend what they are reading.

I sent off another letter to them, I'll see how that works. This is the reason I wanted the contact for their general counsel, he is the next route I will be taking along with a complaint to the FTC.

Thank you, jlynn. I guess I'll try the phone call this week. Schedule early part of the week is not going to permit me to get to it. We'll see how it goes. Thanks again!

Make sure the 30 days are up before calling or writing, or they will extend the investigation by 15 days. TU is famous for that BS. Do not let them start a new dispute either. Tell them to remove the disputed TL's and fix the split.

Yep, according to your above dates, don't call them until after the 31st.

Right, I'll wait for the 30 + 5 to pass and then deal with it. Thanks again!
