Hello all,
Brand new to the site. I actually found this site by googling the Art of Credit website, a website I remember perusing when beginning to inform myself about credit card accounts, collection companies, and my desire to clean up mounting credit issues. Plain and simple, got in over my head with credit card debt, lost a job that was keeping me just above the water line, and spiraled into a depressive segment of my life that allowed me to ignore the continuing and mounting CC debt problems.
Congrats to all of you for creating a forum truly interested in helping people. I suppose it's the 10 foot rule.. .if you've got a problem or need a solution... ask the people who've been there and "done that". People who've experienced the humiliation and frustration with credit problems. There is power in numbers, and putting minds together to provide advice... support... and direction is certainly valuable.
Finally the question: Do any of you provide individual consulting in terms of tackling CC debt years old? After reading many of these threads I'd found similar to my situation, my head is swimming and may be more confused than before I came here.... due mainly to the overwhelming information provided here. I have questions about where to start first... what process to embark..... and what to expect once the journey has begun.
Please advise....

Thats tough to do because of the credit repair organizations act. That act makes it close to illegal for most to charge for advice.
It would just be best to start a thread describing your issues and take it from there

Please advise.... | Welcome aboard and glad to have you here. Feel free to ask questions and may I suggest good reading in the essentials and case law sections, but please be aware of our disclaimer...
We are not attorneys, and we do not offer consultation of any kind. That would be unethical as we are not licensed to give that sort of advice.

Welcome, and I agree with the others.
First step--get copies of your reports from the three individual credit reporting agencies. The trimerge that you get online doesn't always report everything accurately.
While you're waiting for your reports to come, read through the credit essentials section.
Post your questions here. As you said, there is strength in numbers. You may ask a question, someone will answer, then someone else may jump in with another take. A discussion will ensue, and you'll get to see the pros and cons both of some of the possible actions.
So, sit back, be comfortable, and ask away.

Please advise.... | There are many companies out there that provide that type of service. We do not endorse any particular companies, nor do we charge to help people get their credit back in track. Feel free to post away if you want help with your issues.
