This is a new one on me....
I got a credit denial based on CSC Credit Services: http://www.csc.com/solutions/creditservices/
I've never heard of these people, but apparently they are affiliated with Equifax.

CSC is a subsidiary of Equifax.

I actually liked them...until they moved to Dallas from Houston. Their staff in the legal department got stuff taken care of very quickly for me and I could always count on Donna just with a quick email.

They were the easiest for me to deal with also. Last time I worked with them I had to go through the El Paso office. Not sure if that address is still valid.
You can find out easily if CSC has taken over your area. Enter your zip code at this site and see if they refer you to CSC. https://www.econsumer.equifax.com/co...online_dispute
I had a friend who would send a dispute by mail to Equifax on purpose. By the time they forwarded it to CSC it ate up several days of the investigation period. Not sure of that will still work if they do everything by computers now.

CSC is a complete pain in the @ss. They really do "own" the data on consumers in some parts of the country instead of EQ and conduct all of the reinvestigations.
I can almost never get through to anyone on the phone and they don't work on Fridays at all. When a miracle happens and I actually get through to someone, they refuse to help me - telling me a special department will call me back within 48 hours (and do you think I actually get a call back?)

Roy,
Do me/us a favor. When you get your report from CSC check to see if there are any notations about Equifax on it. Especially in the inquiry section that will show a notation about Equifax. Their company reports show that Equifax maintains the database where your report comes from. CSC has no business offices in Atlanta where the database exists.

Don't forget--the report should be free since you were turned down for credit.

This is the address I always use for disputes:
CSC Credit Services
Box 619054
Dallas, TX 75261
They tend to be slower to respond than the others.

If they are getting their data from EQ, does your EQ file show a hard inquiry from them? If so, what is the PP? Just curious...

I see where EQ pulled last month, but that has to be because I ordered my credit reports last month. Nothing from CSC which is odd and I sent a copy of the adverse letter to CSC with my request for my file. I agree with you that there should be some indication that CSC looked, pullled, and or has a credit file on me.
I don't even see an inquiry from TX.

In the days of the real Creditwatch - I couldn't get my EQ file, as I am a CSC flunkie. But I did find it rather easy to make them see my way when it came to errors. |

Actually, the disclosure comes directly from EQ, even if the consumer or lender goes thru CSC. Check the inquiries when you request your file from CSC and you will see a notation from EQ stating they issued you a copy. CSC has no database to maintain.

If you want to speak to one of their idiots, I mean reps, the phone number is 281-878-1900. Do not make a selection when asked, just wait on the line and you will get a real idiot, I mean, person. As you can tell, I am not a fan of CSC at all. They still haven't sent me the results of my dispute. It's been a week since I called and they had already completed the investigation about a week prior to me calling. IDIOTS!!

Ok, I got the green card back from my second request for my credit report and they still have not sent my credit file to me.
Why won't they un-ass my report????
