Is this the norm?

My daughter got a judgment against her for (what else) cc debt. Her wages are going to be garnished. She was sent a certified letter that she signed for yesterday. I was looking at the envelope and noticed it was mailed from another zip code but the return address was addressed as if it came from the clerk of courts in our town. I recognized the zip code as one from Birmingham and got suspicious that it was mailed by the attorney that sued her. It was the same zip.

Is it, for lack of a better word, normal for the plaintiff attorney to use the courts address instead of their own? Is this just being sneaky? Just seems rather strange to me.

The courthouse could have a bulk mail mailing service. If in doubt, go down and pull the file.

I have no doubts. This zip is 60 miles away, different county, different courthouse. It just got me to thinking why the attorney would use my county courthouse address instead of his own mailing address. The envelopes that come from my county clerk are embossed with his name..etc. This is a computer generated, stick on label that just says clerk, county courthouse. It may be totally innocent but it appears sneaky to me.

I'm not very trusting of attorneys so I tend to look for things that are outside the box.

It may not be real, so check the courthouse to see what has really been filed.
