| Trans Union old tricks? I have always suspected it, but now I may have proof for myself that it really happens.
Earlier this year, I disputed a TL with TU. They replied with a complete report that the entry was correct. OK fine, but wait, what's this? The same TL shows up in exact duplicate on the same report, right under the first entry! What would anyone do, but dispute the accuracy of the OC reporting their entry in duplicate. TU responds that BOTH entries are verified as correctly reporting in duplicate. I do the same dispute two more times, each time they say yes it is correct by showing up in duplicate.
My next step is to contact the OC via the address provided by TU. I point out that this is false and misleading on their part, and I will consider the matter closed if they delete everything from all CRAs. All they did was to tell TU to get their act together and remove one of the entries.
Good, but I want more done if by chance the OC really did do a double post. I send a letter to OCs General Counsel pointing out all the mess that TU says they did. Today I receive a call from them saying that the first they heard about any of this was when I contacted the address provided by TU. So I asked "then TU flat out lied about ever contacting you about anything?" Reply was "yes they did." They are sending me a letter stating this.
Do I have a cause of action against TU? |

| Yes, Neil, you may have a cause of action. Wait until you get the letter from the OC before you do anything else.
Is this a consumer debt or one of your business ones?

| Here's an update, could use some guidance. The OC sent the letter saying that my inquiry to them was the first they heard from anyone. I sent TU a request to explain. They said "yes we did investigate, the OC did the double-entry, and verified every time." I don't see an OC doing something like that on purpose, and if TU really did their part, the OC should have caught it. I contacted the OC asking them to respond to TU's comment, they have not responded. |

Each time I received a form letter stating their general policy.
BTW, we have two OCs that say TU never contacted them. Getting close to the 12 month SOL to file on them. |

| So my question is, should I file against TU, OC, TU and OC together, or TU and OC individually? |
