Almost 30 days sinse request interrogatories

Friend has yet to receive anything, what should she do?

If she is in district/federal court you are required to try to work things out among yourselves. This is why I email, snail mail, call (while recording), and then do it one more time. This way you have proof that you have absolutely tried to work things out and the defendant is bull conning and you've got reason to ask for a motion to compel.

Now on state court, you know I don't know a lot, so I can't say, but I would still try so you are in the right if it comes down to it.

She is on federal court, will tell her to fire up a letter after the thirty days have expired to see the status of the request for productions and the interrogatories.

Don't expect them to answer ahead of time and we are supposed to be good sports. If it hasn't been thirty days, then don't sweat it and if it's a day or two or three late, don't sweat it. District court wants you to behanve like adults and try your very best to work and play with the other kids.
