Soft inquiry from Midland Credit Management

I got my TU credit report today & noticed that Midland did a soft inquiry a few months ago.
I have never dealt with Midland before. I have not received anything from them.
They are not reporting on my credit reports.
I googled them & read a ton of bad stuff like they often re-age old debt & put it on credit reports.
I filed ch 7 bk years ago.
Over the years, I have dealt with various CA's that were sold some of my old discharged bk accounts.
I just really have no idea what Midland could be trying to collect for & it makes me feel very paranoid wondering what they are up to.

How should I handle this?
Should I just leave it alone & see if they send me something or report to the CRA's?

Do you have any accounts that were not included in the BK?

If not, then I can't see any harm in writing them to ask why they got a copy of your report. If it was not permissible, you may be able to get some money from them for violating.

I had a similar situation. They claimed they pulled because they were doing their due diligence on charged off portfolio that allegedly included an account they claim once belong to me.

We entered into protracted litigation and we eventually settled our differences.
