| Need a loan while doing credit trepair Hi all,
Has anyone had experience with a company called XXXXXX? They guarantee you get the amount you need (about 14% int)with their lenders. There is a finders fee which they state on their site is returned if their lenders don't deliver.
This is a serious inquiry----not spam. I need to get some money to help my daughter and me over a bad hump post-medical drama (no ins).
Thank you,
Mel

| I believe finders fees are illegal.
What would you do if they kept the fee despite their guarantee? |

| Finders fee reminds me of the ads people used to run in the back of Rolling Stone in the 80's.
14% plus a fee...hell, you may as well go to a back alley and find the local numbers runner.
Quite frankly, I would be looking instead at a sit-down with the loan officer in my small local bank or credit union...they will actually lend on character and capacity.

| If you have anything to secure a loan with, you might try Citifinancial or American General. I normally would not recommend these as they are IMHO bloodsuckers but you probably could get a loan there if you have household items to use as security. I understand they are agressive in pursuing you if you are late to pay or default. Should be a last resort to borrow from them.
You should also consider other ways to get some cash such as holding a yard sale or selling Avon or other door to door sales. Perhaps even pawning something you have of value.

| I found the company in question in Rip off report. It appears they have been scamming people for some time. |

| Several years ago I had to use Citifinancial twice to get through surprise unemployment situations. In spite of the interest rate and some of the add-on fees, I found them willing to work with me if I encountered a problem. This was a local office. I was late several times, received a call from the local rep and explained to them what was going on, all was OK. They never reported the delinquencies to the CRAs. |

| Wow, thank you Neil !! I called them because I got a mailer that I was prequalified----yeah right---but when I called and gave my info they said sorry, no. Then I applied online thru a site that says "these are the lenders that help bad credit people" When I got the application confirmation email it was Citifinancial again (the site didn't say who they were sending the app to). I have not heard back their decision---it will be interesting. They did ding my credit report twice tho.
I never want to be in this situation again---ever!! |

| Try Prosper's website. It's a site where regular people give loans to other regular people. It helped me out during a tough time and reports to the CRA's too. Google Prosper and good luck. |

| Prissypoo79,
Thank you for the tip. I researched them and it seems pretty positive as an option. I am finalyzing my listing for review. I have talked with one of the group leaders and he is helping me through the process. I'll keep you posted. What a great idea. Glad it worked for you! |

| Hey Driv or Wimp, glad I haven't lost my sense of humor through this great classroom of life. I got a chuckle. Do you still have to be sitting in the corner? ;p |

Although I have noticed a few of my recent posts are missing
