Making Progress but have verizon roadblock

So far by getting a couple credit cards and paying them regularly ive gotten my credit from 544 to 588. My credit report is pretty clean except for $180 that verizon claims that I owe them. To make matters worse they are putting a KD on my account every month, I have about 1 years worth of KD from them so far. I would like to get this removed by trying to get a deletion letter from them. I'm willing to pay the balance to put this behind me but I would like a letter of deletion.

Does anyone know where I can get a sample letter to make this request for a letter?

Extra Info: The debt is with verizon, not a collection agency.

Short and sweet, something like this:

You claim that I owe you $180. I am willing to pay in full in exchange for you to delete this entry from all of my credit reports. Please respond within 30 days.

Try that and see what happens.

I would say something like:

You claim I owe you $180. I do not acknowledge this debt in any way. However, I am willing to pay the amount in full to clear my credit if you agree to delete all reference to this account from all credit reporting agencies.

Don't acknowledge that the debt is yours.

You can try it however, Verizon will do one of two things:

1) Negotiate your payment but, not honor the Agreement (this is the likely occurence),

or

2) Refuse to negotiate the payment.

In short, Verizon does not delete anything unless it is brough to their attention that they reported something on your reports in error. They are a tough nut to crack.

That said, I would consider an alternative notion to improve your scores. If however, none come to mind then you can opt to go with the payment with adhesion. If they cash it and mark it as paid, it will help insofar as it will stop reporting as past due and delinquent every month. Even if they up the date of status to the date of payment, I think you'll still come ahead. In addition, you would also have a breach claim should you be willing to push it that far.

How much damage do you think this is doing to me, its really the only blemish on my credit report for the last 4 years. The fact that they keep putting this on my report every month at least looks bad to me. If it gets reported as resolved, but not deleted, how much will it help my over all score?
