My 2008 Resolution - Please help
24 years old
Live in Ohio
Discharged Ch 7 Bankrupcy in March 2004 (due to car accident w/o insurance)
Here is what my report (PrivacyGuard) looks like.
How/Where do I begin? I would like to send validation letters but the info I find online is just confusing me even more.
When can validation letters be sent?
How do I use the info on my credit report to find who to send the letters to?

Are these accounts in good standing?
Does anything show as IIB?

Yes, look at the details of each account (you don't have to post all the info) and see what is reporting incorrectly and why.
How many of these are negative? How old are they? What state are you in?

Thanks for the quick replies.
The biggest problem I have right now is that I dont really know who/when/why I have some of these accounts. I was living a pretty bad life heading down a very rocky road. Now I am back on track (sober and clean for 6 months), have a good job and I am finally going back to school. I find myself picking up the pieces and getting my credit back on track is the biggest problem as of now.
I am in Ohio.
What is IIB?
Here are the things listed on the reports.

I wouldnt post that graphic.
The info on there could be used to identify you.
Not a great idea.
And IIB is included in bankruptcy

A lot of these creditors have pulled your report, or could. The amounts could lead them back to you.
I am not trying to spook you, but advice here is often best when anonymous.

I think a mod has to do it after a certain period of time.
Can someone do that?

I deleted the images from the second post. Do you want the first one deleted, too?
If you recap the data (how many of each type of acct, etc) and PM it to me, I'll post it in place of the images for you.

While the Privacy Guard reports are good for monitoring, I would recommend you write the CRAs and get reports directly from them. There is information on them, that is missing on a trimerge.
The CRA reports will have the addresses where to contact the CA's that you are wanting to send validation letters too.

How do I do that? Simply send a letter to each asking?
Is there a cost involved?
I have heard the VL need to be sent within 30 days of first notification. Is this true or and they be sent any time?

The 30 days is notification from the collection agency, not the reporting agency.
You can call or write each bureau for your report. You are entitled to a free report from each bureau every year. If you get the free report, they have 45 days to handle a dispute instead of 30. If you have already gotten your free report, there is usually a charge, I believe about $8 for each.

Just call and tell them you were denied credit.....the reports are then free and you dont give them the 45 day response window.

I just want to make sure I have this right.
Step 1) Call all 3 CRA’s and get a copy of my reports.
Equifax 1-800-685-1111
Transunion 1-800-888-4213
Experian 1-888-EXPERIAN
Is it better to call or write? Can it be done online?
Step2) Send VL to CA’s & dispute with CRA’s (at the same time)
Step 3) Wait for responses
After this is where I am lost.

I have sent requests to each CB for a copy of my report. These reports will include the addresses of the creditoers on my reports wont they? That is what I need so I can send VL's.
Once I get the addresses the next step is to send VL's to each.....right?

Original Creditors have no validation responsibilities under Fed law, only collection agencies.
