Hello Group:

So yeah, my first post sez it all, WTF happened?
No games or cute answers about hardware problems - just what happened? My username was CAB, same as here.

PM is fine if it's a sensitive issue, a quick summary is all.

I think you already have the cliffnotes, there was a raid faliure and they did not feel like re-opening the site and starting from scratch.

Aside from the faliure, they where sued by an asshole with no life. With that said, running a board is bad enough; if you add to that equation the posibility of being sued. Makes you wonder if it is worth having a site.

It hasn't been beaten to death simply because the cute answer was the answer. Sorry there was nothing juicier to share.

I’ve never understood why a simple redirect page was never put in place, telling users the site is gone. Even a quick sticky on other boards would be nice. It would save a lot of time and frustration trying to sort thru all the garb.

It’s too bad, I thought the site was a tremendous asset.
I see a few names and I’m sure there are others lurking – so thank you for your tireless efforts.

That's my point.
Having to search thru several boards, some of which people are not even aware of, seems silly when a simple page on the original site would be far more effecive and to the point.

It would have been simple except that since there was a raid failure there was nothing left to put a page on.

It wasn’t my intent to come on here and argue – I only wanted to know where the site went and if it was ever returning.

Qtip’s post was concise and to the point and appreciated, and I agree with you folks – no site is worth the headache of a lawsuit.

I only suggested a redirect page instead of having to jump thry hoops to find out where everybody regrouped. Some of us followed AOC only and have no knowledge of other boards.

Simple as that. No need to continue the confusion with hardware stories. I meant no ill-will to anybody.
