| Buy AU account/tradeline I tried asking this question at another big forum and got my head nearly chewed off. It appears that everyone over there believes it is morally wrong to try and side-step the system to give your scores a little boost. Well after nearly 10 months of fighting 3 account of id theft and getting nowhere with these CRAs, I could care less. They are oblivious to there own reporting procedures why should I care. I have searched for a good company to get AU TL but before I take the plunge, does anyone have any good companies they suggest I should use. I found one, called them etc but its still hard to tell if there legit. The cheapest one they have is $800 so ..... I know bc of fico 08 this could be worthless anytime & im ok with that. I need to get a car loan soon.
Thanks |

| Apex Credit Services is one of our posters here (he posts under Apexcrsrv). His company provides this service, and I'm sure he'll be glad to provide you with references. Look for some of his posts or his profile and go to his web site.
He probably won't be along until later tonight.

| Just be aware before dropping money on purchased tradelines that you are aware of the fact that at least one bureau has been noted in the past few days of stripping reports of AU tradelines (EQ) and they will have limited impact in the proposed FICO 08 scoring system.
Quite frankly, you would be better served to take the same money and drop it into funding for a secured account.
Oh, and auto-enhanced scoring is often quite different from classic FICO modeling. You might want to plop yourself into a chair in front of the loan officer at your local credit union and see what they can tell you...you might be able to get the vehicle loan without having to purchase tradelines.

| Funny, I heard Equifax wasn't going to apply the new model to their data. I'll have to do some checking.

| While they might not be applying the new model, several at CB have reported AU accounts disappearing over the past few days. The people posting about the loss were initially trying to blame it on split files or bumpage but the only accounts missing were AU accounts.

The CRAs get paid on the TL's reporting why would they strip them to NOT use the model that strips them at no cost?
Are these same people complaining of choppage too? EQ is known to remove very old inactive positives in an effort to make room for those that insist on pulling their reports 754.5 times a day. Of course EQ will deny it and tell you that the furnisher pulled it off.
Anybody call EQ?

How are they going to validate that it's a spousal account, especially since there are so many cases now where the last names are different.
Jlynn's theory seems to make sense.

| These were all recent accounts, noticed over the weekend. No other indicators of choppage (which I have no problem with since I couldn't give two shits about bumpage)...
It is too early to say whether there was an across the board issue, but there was a pattern emerging.

Jlynn's theory seems to make sense. | You have a good point Hedwig - I know the last AU account (mine) that Hubby was on, was marked as "Shared but Otherwise Undesignated" my name appeared no where - meaning EQ had no way of knowing whether it was spousal or non-spousal.

| And what about when Jane Doe is really Mrs. Bill Smith. How are they going to know?
If it says "Shared with Bill Smith" how does that indicate that it's a spousal account?

| Regardless of what is going on, I would still maintain that OP is better served to take the $800 per account and put it into a secured card and also a share-secured loan with their small local credit union. Not only does that give them two accounts that we KNOW (within reason) will be recognized by any scoring system, but it also helps with the mix of accounts that we reasonably know FICO algorithms like to see (I got dinged when I lost my auto note...need to open up a space in the driveway before looking to add another vehicle).

Thanks | Dang, I skimmed this as people had already begun answering. Thanks Spinn for addressing the important issue.
Why should you care? Because you are thinking of plopping down $800 to get a score that you deserve for free. By giving up you are allowing these to stay on your report for 7 years. Have you contacted the creditors directly that are reporting these lines? Have you tried contacting counsel for the CRAs and letting them know you are about to sue their pants off, and your damages will be the difference in the cost of a car loan over its life +++ everything else you can think of?

One day I was fed up with all the written correspondence, I called them and talked to their fraud dept. After about 90 mins and 6 different reps, they finally found my file. I told them that I never opened the account and they said "well if its fraud, why would you make a payment on the account back in 03" I asked how payment was made, they said by check and they would send me copies. Well 4 months later, guess what, nothing. Collectors are easier to deal with than cap. one. |
