| Got a couple of CM letters possibly being refused I have two CM DV letters that I sent out that are showing as notice left on USPS site. It's been a couple of days now.
What would be the next step if they don't pick them up and they end up getting returned to me? Do I make a second try or should I then send a copy of the returned/refused envelope to the CRA?
One is to a CA named Springwood for a small medical bill (less than $100). I'd pay it if they respond and validate and agree to remove. I tried contacting the hospital and they won't accept payment for it now or give me specific information about it. It shows a date opened 3/28/2003 and a reported date of 4/3/2008. I don't even know what the bill is for exactly. I did have more than one emergency room visit around that time in 2003 but can't remember what was wrong on that exact date.
The other is CA on the wife. The OC is Tmobile for just barely over $100. I know we paid this but it's been close to 10 years ago and I can't find the receipts now or have proof of the age to show the CRA but the reporting date by the CA (bureau of collection and recovery) is 01/2007. I disputed it online on 02/2007 (before I knew that disputing online is not recommended) and of course it was verified but I do not know the method of verifiying. If I have to contact the CRA again about this what should I mention regarding the first dispute?

| What is the SOL for your state? It appears that these could be out of SOL and maybe even obsolete.

| 6 years on revolving account/open credit accounts. The first one is not quite out of SOL but the second one is, I just don't have proof of it yet unless they validate and send me the original contract from Tmobile.
Figuring it up, it's close to or at least 8 years old on the Tmobile account, not 10, but positive it's over the SOL if I had a copy of a bill.

| Is a medical bill an open or revolving account, or is it a written account?
What is the SOL for written accounts?

| Why do people automatically presume that something is being refused just because it goes a few days without being signed for? Why?

| I don't know, but I think the post office keeps it at least 14 days (maybe 30) before returning it.
I used to work someplace where we got certified and registered mail. It came to a PO Box. They won't put the letter in the box, only a notice to pick it up. We tried to go to the PO at least twice a week to check, but sometimes we'd only get there once a week. The mail would be there, waiting for us.

These went to street addresses and I don't know many businesses that don't get mail delivered to their door 5 days a week at least when they list their street address as a point of contact.
Plus I didn't see that it would hurt to ask a 'what if' question so I'll know what to do IF a letter is ever refused.

What is the SOL for written accounts? | It's 6 years also for written just checked.
6 years on everything in TN except judgments which have 10 years SOL. |

Plus I didn't see that it would hurt to ask a 'what if' question so I'll know what to do IF a letter is ever refused. | While delivery occurs every day, not all delivery takes place during hours that the office is open. I know that we have occasions where we shut down early, shut down for a week while we all go on vacation or *gasp* sometimes just shut down for lunch. And occasionally a substitute carrier comes before or after business hours or on a Saturday. In those cases, we get the salmon card in the box...we can either go to the PO and pick it up or wait a few days and it gets a second delivery attempt.
It is also entirely possible that it was delivered and the system was not updated, a frequently occurring problem with USPS CMRRR.
