Looking for additional contact info for Verizon
I get nowhere when calling Verizon's Wireless main phone number about a collection they have on phone that they say were returned late but were not. I can't prove it though, but I'm hoping to get a more understanding ear by reaching someone higher up.
Does anyone have any other corporate phone numbers or may have contacted Verizon before and can recommend a person to speak with?

Best they'll do is accept 75% of the balance. The rep said they get paid 70% of the balance for their old chargeoffs. She claimed this has gone through 3 CA's since 2005 and now it's back to the OC and that it's getting ready to be sold. I only received one notice a few months after returning the phones and that's the only time I've ever heard of anything regarding this.
She said they'll update the status as paid in full/charge off instead of settled/charge off
The charges are for the monthly access charge even though the phones were returned in 15 days and no mins were used. I asked to have a copy of the signed contract sent to me because I don't remember anywhere on it where I had to pay for a full month of cell service if I returned the phones within the worry free guarantee.
Any suggestions?
The account was opened 12-4-2005 so it's within SOL. 75% settlement would come to $270 total which I can pay, I'm just not sure it's justified.

Should I send a validation letter to Verizon and request a copy of the contract and see if it can get removed on any technicalities?

Verizon doesn't have to validate.

I meant verify, sorry. They are still required to show proof of the charges aren't they?

FDCPA does not apply to OC. If they are willing to delete for $270, go for it.

They will show paid in full/charge off (not just paid in full).
She stressed most creditors that accept less show settled/charge off instead of paid in full/charge off.
If I was for sure I owed it I would pay it. She's sending me a copy of the contract for me to look over so I can see for myself that it says their then worry free guarantee just canceled the contract that I still owed access fees, account fees, and more. If it does I'll pay it.

But in general and besides this particular case, then is there no statues that require a company to prove to you that you owe them money?

Contract law, statute of frauds, UCC, etc.
Go here Return Policy - Verizon Wireless to review the return policy.

I sent a letter to Verizon's CEO through Planetfeedback. Figured it wouldn't hurt.
