No response from CA, now letter from attorney

I received an initial letter from a CA back in October. I wrote back and requested validation. I have my green card as proof that they received my request. I never heard anything from them. Last week, I got a letter from a law firm stating that they represent the CA.

How do I respond to the attorney?

Thank you for your letter of xx/xx/xx.

I was contacted by CA on xx/xx/xx. I timely responded to their allegations. As of this date you client has failed to respond.

Any further collection actions by your client or your firm will be referred to counsel for prosecution.

Please be guided accordingly.

Regards,

xxxxxxx

Was your request for validation timely? Does the "attorney" represent the same debt collector?
