Help required on a Judgement

Dear Sir/Madam

A judgement was recorded against me in KS Court on 02/04/1999. Statute of Limitation on these kinds of judgement in KS is 5 Years and Renewable. Till this date (07/03/2008) I don't see any renewal of judgement recorded on my case.
Can this judgement be vacated/nullified and if so what is the procedure.
Any help on this is highly appreciated.

Thanks
Sri

A judgment entered in 1999 would have remained on your credit reports until 2006 unless it was renewed. If it was not renewed it should have fallen off.

Once a judgment is entered, you generally have a limited time to challenge the validity of the judgment. Since nine years have past I seriously doubt you have grounds to vacate the judgment.

Even though it can no longer report on your credit reports, it remains in the public domain that can be accessed by anyone preforming a public records search.

Since the SOL has expired and a renewal has not been done, can this judgement be enforced now and can they take a lien on my property or can they revive the renewal procedure now. Please let me know

I am not challenging the judgment, but based on the SOL in KS and the renewable procedures, can this be NULL and Void now
Thanks

To answer your question would require an interpretation of your state laws, which I am not qualified to do.

You can look up your state statutes or ask a qualified attorney in your state.

Enigma is spot on here...every State is different in its requirements for renewal, to include the time in which a dormant judgment may be revived. I don't believe we have any licensed Kentucky practitioners on the site.

If an effort was made to take action beyond the period allowed for revival actions, a timely challenge would have to be made to the attempts...absent such a challenge, then in most jurisdictions, the revival would likely be recorded.
