One at a time?
I have geard that it is best to only dispute one error at a time on each cr. What do you think?
Also should I dispute them on the myfico site or in writing (cert mail etc)?
THanks,
Mel

No, you can do multiple disputes.
No, dispute directly with the CRA.

Hi,
Well it is true that you can do multiple disputes at the same time, I would caution against it to some extent. Meaning if you only have a couple items to dispute then by all means go ahead, if however you are trying to dispute several then break it down into smaller groups.
Remember it is considered a crime to unlawfully manipulate your credit report. Trying to dispute several items at once can be viewed as an attempt to do so. Not that you are trying to do that or anything, but remember perception is 9/10 of the law. Meaning you may hit the good old red tape in getting the credit bureau to help you out.
I would recommend simply disputing directly with the credit bureau in question. Give them a call ask for their form, it's pretty easy really and take it from there.

I'm sorry, but you'll have to post the federal statute on this one for me to believe it.

I have been waiting for years to see a statute that says something like that. I think the CRA's just put that on reports to bluff people into not trying to get things off their report. Given that most tradelines have something that is not right, we have a great defense to that one anyway.

You can say whatever you like. Lie if you want. I don't condone it and we're prohibited from doing it under CROA but, you can lie like the devil if you want.
In addition, BLAST away at everything at once. There is no practical reason to nitpick it over and over. Takes to long. You're going to remove about 50% of the garbage by hitting everything the first time if you know what you're doing.
Always reduce your communications to writing for your records. Disputing online is for huge CSO's, not the average consumer that is serious.

Apex, that little word, "unlawfully" is the key word in what Troy posted. None of what we do, you do, or that we advise to do is illegal so is not unlawful.
And I'm still waiting on the posting of that federal statute.

You mean you will. I will have to live forever to pay off my law school loans...
Besides I thought it was you and me in rocking chairs at a beach house not park benches...

Why, you're not making enough inane posts to get your post count up?

yeah, but yours generally have a point...when you go on a one-liner tear, it isn't just that you are trying to boost post counts...

True. While drivel's posts may not be what we want to hear, or even related to the subject, they DO have a point.
