Question Question about credit report

Hello! This is the first time I post. Back about 6 years ago, my husband and I had a car repo'd from us. Now, this, of course will come up on the credit report that one time that the "charge off" shows up. I guess WFS has sold the account to another creditor and it keeps on showing up on my credit report as a separate and new account, when in reality, its the one car taken away back in 02, and the account is showing up as beginning in 07, when the original account was taken out in 01, repoed in 02. Is that even legal for them to post and repost as different account on the credit report? And if so, how can I proceed to get this deleted from my credit report? Please help!!!

I have moved your post to the credit forum where it will be more likely to be seen and answered.

The account can show up twice, once reported from the original creditor and once from the collection agency. It is a new account to them, which is why they are showing it as a new account.

Are you looking at the individual reports from the three bureaus or one of the online trimerge ones? The individual ones give more accurate and complete information.

What is the date that it is scheduled to fall off of your reports? That's one way to tell if it's been reaged.
