Is it bad to dispute a late payment multiple times?

Is it bad to dispute a late payment, or any other negative information on your credit report, more than once?

My credit is pretty good, but I have about 2 30-day late payments from last year, and I think about 2 more 30-day lates from the year before, all from my wells fargo credit card. About a month ago, I called Wells Fargo and asked them if they can get rid of it, since I have been up to date ever since. I tried to tell them I had been moving (i was in college at the time, so moved between places a lot between the academic year and the summer). I got a letter back from them a week or two later saying the information they reported was correct. I wanted to try to dispute it again, this time directly to the credit reporting agencies, just to see if it can come off this time. I figure I'll just write "I dispute these late payments."

Can I do that, or am I risking damaging my credit by trying to dispute something again?

The only risk to your credit would be if you knew you were late at times that they didn't report, and they added them in the interest of accuracy; or the creditor FUBARRED and reported wrong information...it happens.

I don't think it hurts. I had a collection on my report which I negotiated with the original creditor to absolve me off. But it was never reflected in the credit report. I had to make multiple disputes, finally had it removed.
