Thumbs up Chevron

Just bumped me to a $2,000 CL.

Is there a huge spike in gas prices coming?

Chevron has historically been good about periodic bumps...although I have always questioned why someone needs more than a few hundred on a gas card- higher limits simply encourage people to revolve an already overpriced product at an overpriced APR.

That said...they may be trying to bump the portfolio in advance of the potential sale to GEMB that is in the works...

They still have a few actual "service stations" around where the extra credit would come in handy. Also on long trips for the excessive gas usage.

I have to agree with Neil. Sometimes especially if you are travelling, and you need emergency repairs it comes in handy, and saves your bank cards for other things (including unexpected hotel bills when your car is broke down!).

I got caught in CO with a vehicle that wouldn't start, and although the repair wasn't much after all, that peace of mind was worth a million, especially contemplating rack rates on a hotel in a resort town.

I agree. I used to put a lot of repairs on my gas card, especially when I was traveling.

And my gas bill for all the vehicles (I commute over 100 miles a day) could easily be over $500.

Re: Chevron

That's a nice round number to be bumped too. Chevron has been known to be generous with their CLI.

Re: Chevron

Be wary of their new Visa though...GEMB has quickly rolled it out and it looks enticing with the 30 cent per gallon statement credit. However, GEMB is also noted for being quirky and some have even reported winding up with nothing more than a second Chevron gas card that GEMB refused to combine the limits on...
