Barclays Bank
Anyone have any info on this bank's credit cards? Good? Bad? Run far far away?

Hannah, Barclays is the entity that acquired Juniper. I had a thread last month about junami (as the event was termed at CB). They are quirky, but I cannot say I have had much problem with them. They do auto-CLI's but are reluctant to do customer-requested CLI's. Interest rates tend to be higher but if you don't revolve much with them, it is irrelevant.
BT offers at account opening are often 6 months at 0% with a 3% fee.
As to the question of good, bad or run away...it all depends on who you ask. Most of the credit whores have had no real complaints with them. Lots of the more subprime element that only got the cards with only a $1-2K limit seem to complain the most.
They don't seem to be score driven, and there is no rhyme or reason to some of the limits that have been given. Hence the label as quirky.
Oh, and they tend to be an almost exclusive TU puller.

Reason I asked is today in the mail hubby got an pre-approved offer from them at a FIXED rate 8.99% guaranteed for life on all transfers and new purchases BUT cash advances at 15.99%. Had a new terrorism disclaimer I had never seen before. CL of $15K. What do you think?

There has been discussion about that one over at CB...I haven't followed it since it was not an offer I got (I am opted out) and I also figure that my exposure with them is probably at a max with the limit on the most recent card.
You might as well apply and see what they come back with, especially if the card has no annual fee.

Yeah, there is no annual fee. I just had never heard of Barclays Bank. Haven't been over to CB lately. So Barclays issues or bought Juniper? This offer isn't Juniper though. There isn't anything about Juniper on the mailing just Barclays. I googled Barclays Bank Delaware and nothing bad came up in the first 20 pages of hits.
Hubby doesn't have Juniper but I do.

Juniper is now Barclays for all intents and purposes...my ED card has Juny in the fine print on the back of the card, but the tradeline reports on all accounts as Barclays.

I have never had trouble with juny but many people have. They seem to pull the plug on you for no reason at all and have shut down many CC's after giving them a CLI.
I always look at it like this, you will never know unless you try and 8.99 isn't too bad either.
