I remember when Flying left Aoc to start DB. I know he was unhappy about being censored, but I don't think he was ever banned and my impression was that he was still cordial with the admin/mods there. I think most of us were at DB for awhile, until "the flame war of 2006" . There was so much drama and it was poorly handled, but I was still partial to DB until all the identity tracking rukus/threats started. I found that quite alarming and I hope to Zeus that it's over. Flying does seem like he has tried to put it behind him (posting here occasionally), but I still only go there infrequently and I do not sign in because I'm afraid to. I know diddly about tracking and cookies and stuff. Maybe I'm paranoid, but a few of the people involved seem just a tad disturbed. I'm not sure what CB's problem is with IC or DB. There was another thread about that and how CB has handled it. It makes me sad because most of the people there are so nice and want so much to help. I wish they would stop trying to c#%k block . I have recommended this board to at least 3 co-workers, it's my home now, but I'll always be grateful to Flying for his method as well as Pavlov, Whychat, Breeze, etc...

If you want to cross post, I'd say get the op's permission. I don't think anyone would ever say no because we are all here for one reason, to learn and to help (I guess that's 2 reasons).

Thanks Q-tip for this resource, and also for the arcade.

Let me ask how posting RSS news threads fit within this context?
In this context, it would be similar to comparing apples to oranges.

No. It's the content that counts, and it counts way more than any appearance of activity could ever contribute.
I find that statement kind of odd.

What Hedwig and I are both trying to stress is that having the opposing view available strengthens our own understandings and knowlege. To deprive oneself of that insight is short sighted. To dismiss it without consideration is just sloppy preparation.
Yeah, I know Hedwig agreed earlier with me on that observation.

Yes, but your actions do speak volumes more than your words - and you're not fooling me.

Whatever. I noticed some of my old AOC pal's posts have been removed. The posts I read were full of good information too bad.

I, for one, am wary of those who choose not to cite authority or case law in their responses, and I'm always distrustful of those who cite exprience as the sole reason for their position.

Ultimately, it is up to you to decide what is the best course to take. If you are not comfortable making the decision or the situation is too complex, then professional legal represenation is the right course of action.
Is this opinion based on actual authority, or simply your personal experience on the boards?

The RSS threads are just a wonderful tool for getting news easily. On most days, that is the only activity on my site. But, as I stated many times, I prefer a much slower pace. My opinion is that content is much more important than activity ever could be (see myspace as an example of activity over content).

Anyway each board has their own vibe and personality...

AOC was my favorite as it was like a family over there...IC has now become my permanent home besides my own site.

I used to go to CIC and DB but CIC I just didnt get the feeling..

DB politics, politics and more politics...board polotics that is and a staff that talks out their ass..

DB had some very valuable resources on the site but to many people handing out bad advice left and right and arguing all the time... One person needed the spotlight on them ALL THE TIME or it just wasnt DB...

The smaller boards I dont go to...its usually people talking to themselves....like the word revolves around them

We hope you will stay here so you dont have to deal with alot of

This site is great and its like a huge family. The people are great. Advice good and not so good is offered freely without censorship and we have a HOF forum to voice your opinion...

So now back to your regular broadcasting
Pretty artsy there Jay.

Good Going!

Several people didn't like that, but he tried to explain that to make your argument you have to understand where the other side is coming from and what they believe.

One lady would make statements like "everyone is unemployed" and the professor would immediately ask who in the class is unemployed. When no one raised their hand, he'd look at her and say "so, what is your source? Obviously EVERYONE isn't unemployed--just look around. Now come back with facts."

She'd just sulk and get mad when she didn't get a good grade. The rest of us were rolling our eyes!
Just the facts Ma'am.; 0 I learned many moons ago when you are on USENET you damn well better back up your statements.
