New Take on the Infamous Nigerian Scam

One of my staff [our youth athletics person] who is very involved in basketball was contacted by an organization asking him to coach some visiting international players on his own time. There was a cash payment made to him and then he was contacted and told that ? of the group was not coming, could he refund ? of the money. He did, the check they sent to him bounced and now he is out a substantial amount of money. Upon looking into it, it was a huge scam which is apparently going around the country. The group is contacting youth sport individuals and changing the sport according to their personal interest.
Please warn your staff. We would hate to have anyone else have this happen to them.

Seems that might be an easier scam, then the "all the family is dead" one.
