I need a boat
Seriously. the US Geological Survey office is down at the dam measuring. I predict the marina, and all the 4th of July tents will be floating by evening unless they can push some water.

As long as it's not feeding the Neches or Sabine Rivers. PR and I are already knee-deep in mud, and then some!

No. 1 house doesn't need them. The other has flood insurance.

I don't recall Hannah. I vaguely remember it being precip that falls from the sky. Been so long since we have seen any it is hard to remember. God bless the swamps though, they are still hanging on. Not even a severe drought such as ours can dry out the swamps or the kudzu, they are here to stay.

All the water has to go thru Toledo Bend first, and it is at normal level right now. I ain't worried.

Glad to hear that PR. Neighbor lady and I went down late yesterday and checked again. You could have sold tickets. Kids running back and forth across the HIGHWAY watching the water come over the spillway and the swift moving current of the feeder creek. Its been 4 years since water flowed over.
Went about 1/2 mile down the road to the Sabine, its over its banks, and has flooded most of the bottom land around it - water was up to the tops of the barbwire fences. You actually couldn't tell where the river was, if you didn't know where to look.
I heard the Dallas area had places flooded that have never flooded before. This is just nuts. Oh yeah, and they predict rain today.
Guess I'll be grilling on the stovetop.

we've had four gates open for the past week at the dam close to the house...
One of the local parties scheduled for today had to be postponed since the stage at the club has been under water since the Marble Falls deluge. Lots of lost money from lakeside businesses.

My pleasure Neil, it rained again this morning. I bet I could send you a message in a bottle.
There is something wrong with buying charcoal in a downpour.

Okay....breaking news. Water restrictions for North Texas have been lifted! It's only been raining for like 30 straight days...*grumble*
Anyways, I couldn't resist sending a snap that gives those of you in the area an idea of how much water we've got lying around. A little bit of background for the pic. The entire area you see in the pic is actually a parking lot. Notice the level about mid-way up the tree canopies (they're good size Live Oaks). And the blue ramp in the picture is actually supposed to be going DOWN to the dock, not UP.
Just six months ago we had a good deal of the area lakes shut down because the boat ramps let to nothing but dust. Now they're shut down because the ramps are completely under water. Go figure...

Due to the fact that more rain is in the works today for Texas, I have determined that Jlynn needs to trade in her jeep for this new vehicle...
