Condo suit negotiation advice needed
I have posted about this before but it is nearing resolution and I need some advice. I, and eleven of my neighbors, are victims of the most poorly managed construction project in American history. We are all identically situated and one of my neighbors is suing the condo association.
Basically, the condo had to destroy our patios and then rebuild them. When they rebuilt them, they were worth about $20,000 less each because the building used inferior materials.
My neighbor is asking for about $200,000 because we suffered actual damages and were completely abused for over a year. My condo was often above 95 degrees because of the way the project was done.
The original plaintiff is nearing settlement but will not settle for the amount offered.
I want to write a letter asking for them to make me a "reasonable" offer. In addition to actual damages numerous state fire codes were broken.
In addition.....our board is lying to us and is attempting to create a slush fund by raising condo fees so the rest of the building wont know how much th suit is costing us.
ANy advice as to how I should word the letter or how I should handle this?
